Well, folks, it’s time to finish up that holiday shopping and get those last minute gifts. If you have a new entrepreneur in your life the holidays are a great time to help them out and give them something that can help out their business or their lifestyle. Starting a business is a long road and can be full of ups and downs, but there are many things that can make the whole process that much easier.
Books
Any entrepreneur will always appreciate a good book. Check out Amazon’s small business section. Some recommendations are “Trust Agents” by Chris Brogan, “Duct Tape Marketing” by John Jantsch and “Crush It” by Gary Vaynerchuk.
Corporate ID or Logo Design
Branding is very crucial. A well-designed logo is a good starting point to have a corporate identity. Get them a professional and creative graphics designer who will create something to make their company standout!
Ticket to a Business Conference or Convention
Get them a pass to a conference or convention so they can network and update their skills and knowledge with others in their industry. Use BizJournals or Eventbrite to search for events.
Toastmasters Membership
A new entrepreneur must be able to speak and present well. Get them a membership to Toastmasters so they can master the art of speaking.
Chambers of Commerce Membership
Chambers of Commerce are a great resource for anyone but especially if they are starting a business that is focused in the local community. Sign them up for a year at the local chambers.
White Board
A white board is essential for brainstorming ideas. This is a practical gift and does not cost much. While at the local office supplies store, don’t forget to pick up some dry-erase markers as well.
Gym Membership
This is great for a number of reasons – you know them all. Need I say more?
Magazine Subscription
Get them a subscription to Inc. Mag, Entrepreneur, or Fast Company , or any publication specific to their industry or market.
Press Release Service
The first place to start to spotlight a business is a press release. Hire someone that specializes in writing and distribution of press releases or help them out by using a service like PRWeb.com or PRNewswire.com.
Virtual Assistance
New entrepreneurs might not have the budget for a full-fledged employee. Why not consider hiring a pay-as-you-go Virtual Assistant to help him/her out with administrative tasks?
I’m sure there are tons of other ideas out there for new small business owners. Do you have anything to add to the this? Please weigh-in.
